Veel mensen vragen zich vaak af: Wat is nVidia SLI, als ze dit bij een game PC zien staan. Dit is echter behoorlijk simpel: nVidia SLI is een technologie waarbij 2, 3 of 4 kaarten in een speciale modus worden geplaatst, zodat ze samen kunnen werken in grafische applicaties. Deze technologie wordt toegepast in game PC’s, maar ook in werkstations met nVidia Quadro grafische kaarten. In dit artikel bespreek ik echter enkel de geforce kaarten ( in game PC’s ). nVidia SLI heeft vele voordelen, maar er zijn echter ook een paar nadelen aan verbonden. Voordelen: Eerst en vooral is het mogelijk veel betere prestaties te halen. Zo kan men bijvoorbeeld 2 nVidia GeForce GTX 680 grafische kaarten in SLI mode plaatsen. De laatste generaties van grafische kaarten zijn in staat om elke kaart op 100% te kunnen laten werken in SLI. Dit betekent dus dat je de dubbele prestaties zult behalen ten opziche van 1 kaart. Het interessante aan SLI is dat men zo prestaties kan behalen die men met 1 kaart simpelweg niet kan behalen. Dit is vooral interessant voor Surround en 3D rigs, omdat deze zo veel grafische rekenkracht nodig hebben dat geen enkele grafisiche kaart dit alleen kan leveren. Voordeel 2: Daarnaast is het ook zeer interessant voor budget game PC’s, aangezien er met 2 goedkope kaarten de zelfde prestaties kunnen gehaald worden als met 1 dure kaart. De 2 goedkope kaarten zijn dan vaak goedkoper als 1 dure kaart.

Maar helaas zijn er ook nadelen: 2 kaarten verbruiken wel een hoop meer stroom als 1 kaart. Zelfs in het geval van 2 goedkope tegenover 1 dure. Dit brengt de volgende gevolgen mee: Meer kosten aan stroom, en duurdere voeding. Het zal echter wel nog steeds goedkoper blijven als 1 dure kaart kopen. Nog enkele nadelen zijn dat er een fenomeen ontstaat dat men mircostuttering noemt: Heel kleine haperingen, maar wel net merkbaar, en zeer vervelend.

The Zeek Rewards program has been getting a lot of criticism lately and the outcry seems to be growing almost daily. The newest Zeek Rewards scam accusation is over the sudden cancellation of accounts in six countries without notice or clear explanation. Members in Belarus, Croatia, Egypt, Serbia, Macedonia, and Slovenia, woke up on March 28th, 2012, to find that their accounts had been deactivated with no explanation. It took the company more than a week to address the issue and when they did, there was no explanation as to what was going on. Added pressure to address the issue provoked several conference calls with Zeek Rewards affiliates who cited US policy sanctions against doing business in those countries. They also cited fraud as a reason but no one is really buying either explanation due to the secrecy and lack of valid documentation. While the company has offered refunds on subscriptions and purchases, they are not offering to compensate those members for the points they accumulated, the money spent on advertising for the company or the recruitment of new members. Instead, many believe that the ZeekRewards memberships in those countries were deactivated because of criticism that their business model is illegal and the changes the company made to make the company seem less of a ponzi scheme affects how they make money. The speculation is that by cancelling those memberships is part of an ongoing Zeek Rewards scam and the company is trying to make up for the money lost at members expense.
